After a few multi-day trips on my motorcycle, I decided on this list of extras that I will not leave home without. This list is a combination of equipment and bicycle improvements.
Motor Guard - my engine was hit more than once with a large rock thrown by a truck. Why are likely to be injured on a ride.
Crash Guard - Just laying your bike down in the parking lot can make a lot of expensive damage to fairings and engine. They are cheap insurance against costly damage.
handguards - my existing handguards are dinged and nicked the many rocks that are built for cars and trucks. Them to take a hit better than my wrist.
GPS - It does not matter, but it certainly comes in handy when you can not figure out where you are. It can also help you find the nearest gas and food prices.
12 Volt Outlet - How many times has your cell phone went dead when it is needed most. Also handy to get the GPS going.
Stan Kit - a flat tire usually happens when you least expect them, in the most inconvenient places. It's cheap insurance.
Tank Bag w / Map Case - especially handy if you do not have GPS. This is where I store all my folders and keep the one I'm using the full view of my tank.
Rain Gear - Sometimes, riding in the rain is not a choice. Why is wet?
bags or panniers - Need a place to put things, including things you buy at the May trip. I also use mine to store my $ 600. helmet when I park.
camera - Well, it's not exactly plug-in, but you have to take a picture! Everyone likes to see pictures from your trip, especially people who left home because they do not drive.
There is, of course, the more you take, but it's a top 10 list. I'll save the rest of the top 20 list, when I get bigger bike.
